The principle of ultraviolet (UV) disinfection is to utilize high-energy deep ultraviolet photons in the UVC wavelength range below 280nm to directly damage the DNA or RNA genetic material of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and pathogens, thereby interrupting their reproduction and achieving an efficient and rapid broad-spectrum sterilization effect.
No, UVC sterilization is not visible to the human eye. UVC light falls within the ultraviolet spectrum, which is beyond the range of visible light. Our eyes can perceive light in the visible spectrum, which ranges from approximately 400 to 700 nanometers. UVC light, with wavelengths below 280 nanometers, is shorter and falls outside of the visible range, making it invisible to us. Even though we cannot see UVC light, it still possesses the energy required for effective microbial sterilization.
A UVC water pump equipped with a UVC LED effectively sterilizes the water passing through it.
After the water fountain is connected to the power supply, the UVC water pump operates in cycles of two minutes of sterilization followed by two minutes of rest.
The pump has a built-in UVC LED that illuminate when the UVC LED is active. These lights can serve as a visual confirmation that the UVC LED is functioning.
- Water pump indicator light is on (white): After the pump connects, it will go off
- The water pump indicator light is flashing in white, indicating a water shortage (200ml). The water pump has stopped working.
- The external bucket's red light is on continuously, indicating a water shortage reminder of approximately 350ml. At this moment, the water pump is working normally
- The external bucket's red light is flashing, indicating a water shortage warning of approximately 200ml. At this moment, the water pump is not working.

My cat was a bit confused at first, but is all for it now, it's exceptionally quiet. We use pre filtered water in it and I really like that you can top it off by just slowly pouring water from a pitcher into the top instead of having to pull it apart.

My sheltie has started drinking water too fast and thus would throw up regularly. I needed to change out their water bowls with ones that advertised for slowing down a dog’s drinking. Unfortunately he rejected the new bowls because of moving (rotating) disks or just too weird for him. So decided to give this one a try and immediately he started to drink from it at a controlled speed AND my baby sheltie is not afraid of it since it is very quiet. Most importantly, the bowl is shallow enough to slow their drinking. The company has not advertised it for such purpose, but it is working for my shelties!!! A winner for me and my fur babies! Best decision all around!!!
I’ve used the fountain for several years. These filters are easy to replace. My cats love the moving water.

Very easy to assemble. I like that it is clear so I can see the water level. I use it without a plug so it runs out quicker, but it charges pretty fast. My little dog liked it right away. It's nice that he always has fresh tasty water. One thing they could do better is include at least one filter and sponge with the unit. Everybody else does.
